View Inventory2023 INFINITI QX60 vs 2023 VOLVO XC90
The QX60 is one of the most popular and critically acclaimed options among luxury midsize crossovers, and you now have the option of the 2023 INFINITI QX60 at INFINITI of Montgomery. The current second QX60 generation was launched last year, and INFINITI follows that up with expanded standard equipment. There are four trim levels available, and those are the Pure, Luxe, Sensory and Autograph. A comparison of the 2023 INFINITI QX60 vs 2023 Volvo XC90 is particularly interesting. The XC90 has gone over well with critics, but it hasn’t sold particularly well in North America. In order to make the 2023 Volvo XC90 more competitive, Volvo has completely revamped the trims and equipment packages.

It’s important to note in any comparison of the 2023 INFINITI QX60 vs 2023 Volvo XC90 that the starting MSRP of the XC90 is about 15% higher than the QX60 and that difference can actually widen depending on your choices. Both of these vehicles are midsize SUVs with a similar form factor. The 2023 INFINITI QX60 has a 6.7-inch ground clearance, a 114.2-inch wheelbase and a 198.2-inch length—or about 16.5 feet. The 2023 Volvo XC90, on the other hand, has a 9.2-inch ground clearance, a 117.5-inch wheelbase and a 195.0-inch length. Volvo offers three core trim levels, which are Core, Plus and Ultimate. LED headlamps, a power liftgate and aluminum wheels are standard in both cases. INFINITI offers 18- and 20-inch wheels. Volvo offers 19-, 20- and 21-inch wheels.
Interior - 2023 INFINITI QX60
The 2023 Volvo XC90 and 2023 INFINITI QX60 are similar in that they have three rows and offer second-row captain’s chairs that reduce the seating capacity from seven to six. Headroom is similar with the INFINITI offer an additional inch in the first row and Volvo an additional inch in the second. The QX60 provides more front legroom by more than an inch. Second-row legroom is similar, and the XC90 provides about 4 inches more third-row legroom. That does come at the cost of dedicated cargo space, which is about 2 cubic feet less than the area in the INFINITI model. With the QX80 genuine leather seating is standard across the board. Volvo surprisingly opts for synthetic leather and requires you to choose a powertrain upgrade or move up a trim level to get the real leather.
2023 INFINITI QX60 Mechanical specs
All QX60 models available at INFINITI of Montgomery have a shiftable nine-speed automatic transmission mated to a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 295 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard. All-wheel drive is available with all models. Trailering equipment is optional. With that upgrade, FWD models can tow up to 3,500 pounds, and AWD models can tow up to 6,000 pounds. There are three powertrains available for the XC90. We’ll discuss the first two as the third is a performance option with no comparison with the QX60 and which pushes the MSRP into another stratosphere. The XC90 is an all-wheel-drive SUV with a shiftable eight-speed automatic transmission. The base engine is a turbocharged four-cylinder—247 hp and 258 lb.-ft.—and the option is a high-output version of that same engine that makes 295 hp and 310 lb.-ft. Trailering equipment is available, and the XC90 tops out at 5,000 pounds.
Technology - 2023 INFINITI QX60 dealer
Volvo does offer the more robust base driver-assistance suite, but keep the price difference in mind. You can step up one trim level and get a QX60 package that’s comparable to the XC90 but at a significantly lower cost. The base infotainment suite is nicer in the INFINITI. The QX60 comes standard with a 12.3-inch touch screen compared to a 9-inch screen in the Volvo. The XC90’s infotainment software has a reputation for being difficult to use, and it hasn’t changed much despite the change with the new Google integration.
